Sheet 15 of 15
Final Project: A Small Enclosure from Sketch to DXF
In 10 minutes you'll put the whole course together: a small vented enclosure with four walls, round corner reliefs, a hem, a cable hole and a perforation, ending with the DXF and bend table for the shop.

OP 20Turn the part
Drag to turn, scroll or pinch to zoom. Flat shows the blank before it is bent: the same sheet, the same frame.
The model shows part A, for illustration. Your part has its own sizes: build it from the drawing in OP 30.
OP 30Build it in SolidCraft
Part A of 8. Every learner gets a part with its own sizes, so the values you check below are yours to find.
A new part has new sizes. It clears this sheet's checks and ticked steps; your quiz answers stay.
Your task
Build this vented enclosure from the drawing alone: its views, its notes and the list under it give every size and setting, and you've used every feature in the lessons before.
- Build the enclosure from the drawing.
- Make the files for the shop: the DXF and the bend table.
- Give it the Physical Material Steel and open its Properties.
Stuck on a feature? Its lesson has it: corners and reliefs in 05, hems in 08, unfold, cut and refold in 11, perforate in 13, the bend table in 14.
What to write down
- Boxes 1 and 2: Both numbers of the flat size (the Flat size row; the third number is the thickness).
- Box 3: The number of bends (the Bends row).
- Box 4: The allowance of the hem's bend: the
allowance_mmcolumn of the bend table, in the row with angle 180. - Boxes 5 and 6: The enclosure's mass in steel, in grams (type the number only), and the height of its center of mass (Z).
Type them below and press Check. If your hem folds inwards instead of outwards, the numbers are the same.

Enter what SolidCraft shows you. Each value is checked against SolidCraft's own result, within the tolerance shown. Nothing you type leaves this page.

This opens once you've checked every box at least once: try it yourself first.
Open it in SolidCraft (File › Open) next to yours and compare the timeline, the rule and each feature's sizes: the first one that differs is where yours went wrong.

OP 50Quiz
Q1You want round reliefs at all four corners of the box. What do you do?
Corners are closed and relieved between the flanges of one feature, so pick all four edges in one Flange and choose Round under Advanced.
Q2Why Unfold before drawing the cable hole?
Unfolded, the back wall lies flat beside the base, so you sketch the circle there, cut it, and Refold carries the hole up with the wall.
Q3The hem's bend in the bend table has which angle?
A hem folds the edge right back onto the wall, so its bend is 180°.
Every value is within tolerance. This sheet is done.
