About
Open CAD Academy makes free courses in free, open-source CAD. It is run by Ahmad Khan, and its videos are on YouTube. Its first course is Sheet Metal with SolidCraft, a free, independent community course; it is not an official SolidCraft project.
Every part in the course was designed for it. Every number these pages check (flat sizes, bend angles, bend allowances, counts) comes from running the exercise's commands through the released SolidCraft 0.22 command-line tool. What you see in SolidCraft and what this site checks are the same numbers.
The checks run in your browser, and your progress is kept only in this browser. There are no accounts and no cookies for visitors. Fonts and the 3D viewer are served from this site, so opening a page contacts no one but the site's host; a lesson video loads from YouTube only when you click play. The site counts page views and finished sheets to see which lessons help, as totals per day, page, country, referring site and device type, with nothing that identifies you (no IP address, no cookie). If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted. See the privacy notice.
